BNH: Reason for joining Miss Cebu…

Grace: I've always wanted to make myself as useful to the society as possible - to be of help to others and be an instrument of beauty in all aspects of life. So I decided to join the pageant as it promotes both community extension services and society-empowerment - activities which I encourage myself to be a part of.

BNH: What is your advocacy?

Grace:  My main advocacy is to help street children who are involved in doing criminal activities. I have always believed in children growing as useful members of the society and not as a threat to the society. And if given the chance to be of help to these children, I would like to promote improved alternative learning system through organizations supporting youth welfare. At the same time, I would like to pursue an enhanced livelihood plan to the parents of these children.

BNH: What makes you proud of Cebu?

Grace: Throughout the years, Cebu's development has been very evident. But despite the obvious progress that Cebu has achieved, its rich cultural heritage has still remained. This impresses me a lot as it only goes to show that Cebu can cope up with the challenges of the fast-paced environment and at the same time deliver a preserved cultural history.

BNH: What Cebuano trait a Miss Cebu

should posses and why?

Grace:  Cebuanos are known for being proud of Cebu and I highly believe that a Miss Cebu should possess this trait. She should be able to commit herself as an ambassadress of Cebu everywhere she goes and be able to radiate this character to the people around her.

BNH: Who inspires you?

Grace: My family has always been my inspiration. They inspire me to do well in everything that I do. And they are the foremost reason why I want to achieve greater things in life.

BNH: What is your dream in life?

Grace: Aside from winning Miss Cebu, I've always dreamt of being a flight attendant. I am a very adventurous person and I love to travel and see what the world has to offer. I am a fan of the saying "Make your passion a profession, and you'll never work a day in your life."

BNH: Why join Miss Cebu?

Jen: To be a role model for others so that they may accept their differences, both physically and mentally, as beautiful as well as to gain a wider audience for my advocacy.

BNH: What is your advocacy?

Jen: We do not uphold education to the priority that it should be. The quality of our educational systems, both public and private, and our teachers reflect the outcome of our future. We need to preserve that idea into our hearts not only to improve the educational systems but to ensure a brighter and more beautiful future.

BNH: What makes you proud of Cebu?

Jen: Its ability to accept diversity wholeheartedly and the delicate balance it maintains between pride and vulnerability.

BNH: What Cebuano trait must a miss Cebu possess? Why?

Jen: Miss Cebu should possess humility with confidence in order to exude her beauty to its full potential. She will be able to further her advocacy the years after her reign and inspire the Cebuano with her proud, humble attitude.

BNH: Who inspires you?

Jen: There isn't one particular person that inspires me because everyone I meet has a story. Their story inspires me because it's a constant reminder of how similar and different we all are to each other. Once I understand their story and how their personality evolved from that, I can understand the beauty of humanity, love, and experience.

BNH: What is your dream in life?

Jen: Essentially? To be happy. As corny as it sounds, it's true. I don't know if the life I set for myself is set within the realms of what my ending all be. But I know for sure if I constantly strive for happiness by constantly learning and experiencing and by learning from my mistakes in order to become a better person, I know that my future will be a bright one. Striving and achieving happiness will reflect my journey of making the right decisions and the right mistakes towards happiness.
