MTRCB briefer on ‘‘Face to Face’’
The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) called on the attention of TV5 executives regarding the growing public concerns about their television program Face to Face. During a dialogue last 04 May 2010, the MTRCB, through its chairperson, Ma. Consoliza P. Laguardia, told the network’s executives to take appropriate measures taking into consideration, among others, the complaints of Messrs Manuel Batac and Samuel Banares of Crusader on Wheelchair and National Council on Disability Affairs, respectively, about the program’s seemingly violent verbal and visual content. Meantime, MTRCB subjects the said program on a per episode review.
Face to Face is a reality talk show patterned after the Jerry Springer format in the United States where invited guests area encouraged to let go of their spleen while directly ventilating their grievances against one another oftentimes ending in verbal and physical encounters. The program airs Monday to Friday at 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., and replayed nightly at 10:30 p.m. at 11:30 p.m., over ABC Channel 5.
