Anak nina Paolo at Suzie favorite ang Nido Discovery Center
MANILA, Philippines - Para kina Paolo and Suzie Abrera, bringing their kids Leona, Jade and Nella sa NIDO Fortified Science Discovery Center was a welcome change from their malling routine.
“It’s different from the usual shopping or movie-going stuff that we do,” sabi ni Paolo. “It was like an educational field trip right inside the comforts of the mall.”
Yan ay dahil ang pagbisita sa nasabing lugar ay isang Science-learning experience.
“We like this idea of making the galleries interactive. It lets the kids explore and discover things for themselves. It makes for a very enjoyable experience for them,” Paolo says.
“Usually the ones where they can see themselves. Like at the Gesturetek, where they can see their movements on the big screen as they were playing virtual soccer. They also enjoyed the Fear Wall where they tried to catch the falling virtual oranges using their silhouettes,” sabi ni Mommy Suzie na host ng Unang Hirit.
“We also appreciate how the galleries cater to different areas of interest. While our kids have their own inclinations, the NIDO Fortified Science Discovery Center manages to draw their collective attention to science and technology. They’re able to enjoy an assortment of entertaining learning experiences as they go from one gallery to the other. And that’s good because we know that the more children are exposed to science, the better it is for their education,” dagdag ni Paolo.
The galleries at the NIDO Fortified Science Discovery Center touch on areas such as medicine, human anatomy, aquatic life, engineering, astronomy, robotics, and even environmental science, to name a few.
“Leona, our eldest, is at this age where she’s always curious about things. She’s asking us questions like, ‘How does water become pee?’ It helps that the NIDO Fortified Science Discovery Center appeals to that kind of curiosity in children. Here, as we were going through the galleries like the Grossology, she could understand more clearly how things like that work,” dagdag naman ni Mommy Suzie. “I had to promise them that we’ll just go back next time,” says Suzie.
