Kini tungod kay pasok sa competition ang pelikulang Kinatay ni Brillante “Dante” Mendoza. Duna poy special screening ang mga indie film nga Manila ni Adolfo Alix Jr., diin si Piolo Pascual ang bida ug inahan niya si Rossana Roces. Naa pod ang indie film nga Independencia ni Raya Martin. Sa milabay nga tuig nahugyaw ang mga mitan-aw sa Cannes Film Festival sa pelikula ni Mendoza nga “ Serbis.
