NAGPALIWANAG!
Alarmed over what she deemed as an “unfair treatment” by Startalk in its presentation of the story, nagsilbing alarm clock ko si Becky Aguila shortly after lunch last Thursday.
Thanks to Cristy Fermin from whom Becky got my mobile phone number, at ang pagsasabi rin ni Cristy that if there was any neutral party from Startalk that Becky could talk to ay ang inyong lingkod po ’yon.
Even before I got a call from Becky, I instantly knew na ‘yung binasa ni Boy Abunda sa The Buzz (last November 2) na official statement niya pertaining to the “downright cruelty” of the media, ay Startalk ang tinutukoy ni Becky and no other entity for that matter. Bunsod ’yon ng VTR interview ng Startalk when it went live on All Saints’ Day, only to send chills down Becky’s spine.
Reklamo ni Becky, bakit daw ipinalabas ng Startalk ang ilang hinaing ni Mel Pulmano na lihis na sa isyu, if not had gone as far as maligning her on the personal level.
All throughout our conversation na ikinawala na rin ng aking antok, I was just listening to Becky. Hindi rin daw niya ako masisisi if based on her readings, I have been very critical of her. “Kasi nga, we have not been given a chance na makilala natin ang isa’t isa,” sey niya, with me making her remember that one instance at the presscon of her artist Valerie Concepcion, kung saan I was under the impression na mataray nga siya. Then she realized, “Siguro nga, I should reach out more (to the press).”
In summation, ang nais lang din ni Becky is to clear her name and come out of this issue clean. “Ayoko rin siyempre isiping inaaway ko ang GMA, it’s not my intention.” We wrapped up our phone talk with me by telling her to write a letter, or at least send a text message to Startalk to give vent to her sentiments, which we would willingly air.
As it obviously is now, hindi Startalk ang kaaway ni Becky, she’s up in arms against their former staff. And only God, not even the proper courts of law, knows what’s going to happen next.
