May banned sa Eat Bulaga
Little did I realize na malaki pala ang epekto ng aking PSN column item dated April 7 (regarding the way Ms. Malou Choa Fagar treated two visiting reporters, whose names I withheld then, on the set of the Dolphy-Vic Sotto movie shot somewhere in
Papangalanan ko na ngayon kung sino ang mga iyon: Sina Raymond Vargas at Ernie Enrile, publicist of Eat Bulaga (EB), whose supervising producer is Malou. It was at the Gobingo (pilot telecast is tomorrow) presscon where Ernie casually told me their story na, iyon na nga, laking gulat daw ni Malou upon seeing them on the set. Aminado naman sina Ernie at Raymond they were like ants, at sa picnic although unwelcomed, eh present.
Ikinairita pala ni Malou ang kuwentong ’yon, na ang mga nauna pa raw nakabasa ay ang mga nakatalagang guwardiya sa Broadway Centrum, even if there was clearly no mention who the two reporters were.
Ang ending: Malou has imposed a ban on Ernie Enrile whose regular beat is Eat Bulaga. April 8, a day after my column came out, Malou gave instructions to the Broadway Centrum guards never to allow Ernie to go in.
In our exchange of text messages, I even apologized to dear Ernie I wrote about it, ’di sana’y hindi siya banned. But he didn’t take my item against me. Pati raw pala ang mga reporters na sina Anthony Solis at ang iika-ikang si Lolo Buenaobra with his walker were accorded the same shabby treatment by Malou nung magpunta rin sila sa set ng naturang Dolphy-Vic movie.
I felt that the ban on Ernie bordered on ka-OA-an, this I texted him. To begin with, Malou’s involvement with the movie has absolutely NO bearing at all with her EB work. I thought that Malou was kind of pushing her luck too far, it not spreading her wings too thin.
Bakit iba-ban niya si Ernie sa EB, the movie is an entirely different project? And why antagonize visiting press members na nakakatulong naman sa film project niya? Shouldn’t Malou feel grateful for this? And by the way, ibang tao ba si Ernie Enrile sa “dabarkads” ng EB?
As PR hand of this APT-produced movie, all the more that Malou should exercise her task whichever way possible. Maaaring yung pagpunta ni Ernie sa set may have discrupted her promo campaign, but what has the film outfit got to lose?
I’m most certain that nowhere in the Bible says that whosoever disobeys the Fagar Rule must face a ban. Thank God, I follow what I preach.
