Dahil walang ginagawa... Nadia madalas makisahog

Before I go right to the meat of this item, on a related note, gusto kong bigyang-daan ang e-mail from Mirasol de Guzman, a teacher: ‘‘I don’t know how come ABS-CBN decided to offer a contract to Gretchen Barretto just because she’s controversial. And I don’t know why her manager Boy Abunda keeps on tolerating her. Sa totoo lang, nakaka-turn off na ang mga pinaggagagawa niya.’’

Part of this email carries  a comparison between Gretchen and Paris Hilton, na okey lang daw maging pasaway because of her billionnaire status while the local actress is perceived by the public as ‘‘mistress na social climber.’’

I respect Mirasol’s opinion. But these are the facts.

Nitong Miyerkules ng gabi, a private meeting supposedly took place at Friday’s somewhere in Quezon City kung saan naroon si Gretchen, si Mr. Dodie Puno, Bettina Aspillaga (Boy Abunda’s girl Friday), reporters Cristy Fermin and Jobert Sucaldito. Namataan sila ng Startalk reporter na si Gorgy Rula who left ‘‘empty-handed’’ with news.

Hinihintay pala ng grupo ang pagdating ni Nadia Montenegro, who later declined to divulge the venue of the meeting, pero nabuking na nga ni Gorgy. Ayon kay Gorgy, it would seem awkward naman daw if the meeting took place at Friday’s, surely, there would be a change of venue, more private, more secluded.

Nadia’s participation these days has been frequent, kelan lang she figured in the Rochelle Barrameda-Jimwell Stevens seemingly strange espousal-fat. And now, she’s the alleged source daw of all this ugly tsismis linking Gretchen (her best friend for many years) to Mr. Puno.

Parang nothing much occupies Nadia’s mind except for taking a peek into the private, supposedly well-guarded lives of her friends. Ayokong isipin that Nadia has become a ‘‘human garlic’’ which is widely used in every food preparation.

Mismong araw  na inilabas ko rito sa PSN ang tungkol sa reklamo ng isa nating Muslim brother named Asis, nilapitan ko sa labas ng GMA canteen ang kanyang object of complaint, GMA reporter Marisol Abdurahman. Earlier, I sought the help of her peer Marvin Tumandao to please give Marisol my mobile number so as to get her side (in the name of fairness).

Graciously, ipinaliwanag ni Marisol that she’s not 100% Muslim as her mother is a native of Catbalogan, Samar where for the most part ay doon din daw siya lumaki and not anywhere in Mindanao.

And not being 100% Muslim, Marisol grew up embrasing the Catholic faith, even the schools she went to ay Katoliko rin (she graduated from St. Louis University in Baguio).

In fairness though, she reads Koran, although seldom nga lang daw. Nagsusuot din daw siya ng hijab (the headdress of the Muslim woman) every time she covers Muslim events. Marisol also visits the mosques most frequently in Quiapo.

So there.
