Dingdong wala pang gift kay Juday

SHOWBIZ DRIBBLE - Salve V. Asis -
"What a word." Basta there’s nothing to worry about," he assured.

"Okey lang ‘yun," he said cooly in an interview last Sunday night para sa first team-up nila ni Juday, Akala Mo.

Sa previous interview kasi kay Piolo, sinabi ng actor na alarmed siya dahil supposedly siya ang loveteam ni Judy Ann, pero all of a sudden may sarili ng fans club si Dingdong at Juday.

In any case, during the interview last Sunday, wala pang idea ang actor kung anong birthday gift niya kay Juday. Tomorrow is her birthday. "Hindi ko pa alam eh," he simply said.

Working with Judy Ann is a big deal for Dingdong. "First time kasi. She’s a nice person, walang ka-ere-ere sa katawan," he said about Juday. "May rapport kami, parang ang dali naming naging close," he added.

In Akala Mo, Dingdong plays Eric, na ang office is located sa building kung saan lady guard si Lizette (Judy Ann). Lizette falls in love with the good looking businessman na laging dumadaan sa puwesto niya everyday. At first, hindi siya (Lizette) pinapansin ni Eric, pero like all fairy tales, Akala Mo ends happily-ever-after.

Inspired ang movie sa song ni Aiza Seguerra with the same title. With them are Elizabeth Oropesa, Rico Puno, Anne Curtis, Dennis Padilla, Katya Santos and Candy Pangilinan.

"The scene is very important to the story," justifies Bong Revilla nang mag-agree siya to show his butt na pinag-usapan ng mga nakapanood sa trailer dahil it looks like Bong got carried away sa lovescene nila ni Assunta? "Kahit nga si Lani (his wife), na-shock. "I am into a constant career move," he said na ang last movie ay Mahal Kita, Final Answer with Rufa Mae Quinto. "You can’t remain stagnant. Kailangan you have something new to offer to be competitive," he added.

At any rate, Bong is Leon in the movie na isang viajero na ang code name is Kilabot. Sa umaga, he is plain Leon, isang ordinary tattoo artist in the university belt, mixing with the people na kanyang pino-protektahan.

Isang club dancer si Assunta na naging partner in crime niya later on.

Kasama sa pelikula ang anak ni Bong na si Bryan as Bong’s adopted nephew under the direction of Ogie Salvador.

The movie is set to kick off next week.

I would like to introduce myself, I am Marife Buenafe, 35 years old, actually a balikbayan. I stayed in Paris for eight years and I came home only last Nov of 2000.

Anyway, I just would like to comment on the Sundays variety shows SOP and ASAP which I can see are in really tough competition. I can say both shows are good but I consider ASAP more star-studded and very entertaining. The reason for my e-mail is something that I obviously noticed from both shows last 28 April. (It was a homecoming show for ASAP and the usual stuff for SOP). There was that portion when Pops said something like they were the first to have a back to back. (I can’t really verify how true this is because I have been away for quite a time.) And then when I switched to SOP I caught Janno said something like "we have been imitated but never equalled". You know what, I actually got frustrated with all these "pasarings" from these two shows. Why don’t they just keep on improving their production numbers. It actually leaves a bad taste in the mouth. I know that each show watch what the other show because I am working for a broadcast network in Paris so I have an idea.

And believe me with the six months I have been back, I can really say that SOP is not at par with ASAP. I know there are SOP fanatics out there, but I meant no offense to anyone.

Here are some comments which they may want to consider:

1) Please train their hosts to be really good hosts, if they cannot master the English language, it’s alright, there’s no harm in speaking Tagalog . This is more for Cacai Velasquez (she cannot even sing well, I am not sure what she is doing in that show). I guess it’s because Regine Velasquez. I think GMA is afraid that Regine might transfer to ABS if they remove Cacai from SOP.

2) The back to back to back is okay but if SOP is really bent in promoting their image as the "real concert tv" their show is not a concert at all. If that back to back portion is something that you will do in a concert, the audience will definitely fall asleep.

3) Can they come up with a new way of packaging their show because I think the "concert tv" title originally came from ASAP? Try something different and something better.

4) It’s supposed to be a variety show but there’s not much variety. Most of the numbers are actually rendered by the hosts themselves.

5) And finally, for Janno hope that in his future song numbers, he will not keep on imitating the voice of the singer who popularizes the song he is rendering. He doesn’t have his own style. Why don’t he perform like Ogie, because with Ogie, you know it’s his style.

I have sent you this e-mail Ms. Asis, because I believe you’re not influenced with biases. I hope you can bring some of these concerns with the management of SOP for their own benefit.
