Vernie Varga, kumakain ng butiki ?

Na-iintriga ang karamihan sa sinabi ni Regine Velasquez kay Verni Varga sa kanyang (Regine) concert sa Mandarin last week. Sabi raw kasi ni Regine kay Verni matapos niya itong puntahan sa audience at hingan ng sample, ‘pasensiya na po kayo hindi ko magawa ‘yan dahil hindi ako kumakain ng butiki.’

So ang interpretation ng karamihan kumakain si Verni ng butiki.

Actually, ngayon ko lang narinig ‘yung ganoon.

Di man diretsong sinabi ni Regine ‘yun, di ba nangangahulugan na kumakain si Vernie ng butiki? Hello!

The heat was on at the sand courts sa La Salle Greenhills last March 9 and 10, kung saan ang first serving ng 6th Nestea Beach Volley University Championships made a huge splash as the first batch of Metro Manila teams faced each other sa dalawang araw na preliminary matches.

Umabot sa 32 men’s teams at 24 women’s teams ang nag-represent sa Metro Manila schools and they are all competing for the chance to fly to Boracay in May para sa finals, kung saan over half-a-million pesos in prizes ang at stake kasama na ang grand prize na P100,000 and P50,000 of sports equipment para sa school na kanilang niri-represent.

Sa opening hindi lang mga athletes and celebrities ang dumating kundi maging ang ilang government officials - Sen. Ramon Magsaysay, DILG Sec. Joey Lina among others.

Pero siyempre, pinaka-highlight ang celebrity game - composing the Blue Team were Monsour del Rosario, Atta Girl’s Reggie Curley and Andrea del Rosario, former Bb. Pilipinas-Universe Zorayda Andam, Anna Larrucea and Nestea beach volleyball staple Isabel Granada na niri-represent din ang PATTS para sa nasabing tournament.

Nakalaban nila ang White Team - Onemig Bondoc, sexy actor Toffee Calma, Ms. Tourism World Michelle Reyes, newcomer Cherie Lou and Alessandra de Rossi.

Nanalo ang Blue Team - 21-6.

Anyway, itutuloy sa April 5-7 and game sa La Salle Greenhills sand courts.

Bukod sa food, nag-enjoy din kami sa free entertainment sa birthday ni Ms. Girlie Rodis, na sabi nga ni Ms. Ethel Ramos ay isa sa pinaka-sosyal na member ng Professional Artists Management Inc. (PAMI). Nag-perform kasi ang cast ng Alikabok headed by Cris Villonco, Jeffrey Hidalgo, China Cojuangco with Johnny Delgado’s daughter among others.

Bukod sa anak sila ng mayayaman, may talent talaga sila sa singing. Napanood sa Music Museum ang Alikabok na according to Ms. Girlie ay magkakaroon ng repeat performance by August.

Anyway, konti lang ang invited sa nasabing party na ginawa sa Villonco residence sa Urdaneta Village in Makati.

Of course, present ang malalapit niyang friends like Ms. Virgie Ramos of National Bookstore, Gift Gate etc. na compared sa ibang rich, walang pakialam na naging photographer sa mga bisita para sa souviner photo.

Dumating din si Mr. Ryan Cayabyab with his wife, Rowell Santiago, Ms. Panjee Gonzales-Lopez, Jim Paredes among others.

Wala ang tatlo niyang alaga na sina Rachel Alejandro, Celeste Legaspi and Mikee Cojuangco.

Si Rachel nasa States, si Celeste naman ay nasa Singapore at si Mikee raw ay nasa Germany.
