P2.7M shabu seized in buy-bust

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — An estimated P2.70 million worth of drugs was seized in a buy-bust operation along Lacson Street at Barangay Mandalagan, this city, Wednesday night.

Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-6 apprehended Ritchie Villanueva of Manapla town, Negros Occidental.

PDEA-6 deputy regional director Ronnie Delicana said they confiscated from Villanueva 10 sachets of shabu, weighing 455 grams and with an estimated street value of P2.70 million, as well as the P6,000 marked money.

Delicana said Villanueva was placed under surveillance for one month. The suspect is now detained at the Police Station 3 and is facing charges for sale and possession of illegal drugs. —Marchel P. Espina (FREEMAN)
