Wanted NPA rebel leader falls in Bacolod City
CEBU, Philippines - A suspected rebel leader, with a bounty of P550,000 on his head, was arrested in Bacolod City, Thursday.
Miguel Elorpe Omayao (alias Jhon-Jhon and Junjun Elorpe) was apprehended by the combined elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-National Capital Region, Regional Intelligence Unit-6 and Bacolod Police Station 1.
Omayao was apprehended by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Bernadette Paredes-Encina Real of the Regional Trial Court-Branch 36 in Calamba, Misamis Occidental for multiple murder with quadruple frustrated murder and damage to property.
CIDG spokesperson Chief Inspector Elizabeth Jasmin said: “The arrested rebel leader is listed in the most wanted person lineup at the national level with monetary reward of P550,000.”
Jasmin added Omayao, who is now detained at the CIDG-Bacolod, “was the former liaison officer of the Front Committee Sendong, West Central Mindanao Front of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front.” (FREEMAN)
