Irish man nabbed for "drug pushing"
PANGLAO, BOHOL, Philippines — Combined agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and the Panglao Police on Tuesday arrested a 33-year-old foreigner for allegedly selling illegal drugs in this town.
The PDEA identified the suspect as Conor Paul Maguire, an Irish national based on the passport confiscated from him.
Maguire, who is presently residing at Barangay Tawala in this town, was later detained while the shabu seized from him was being subjected to laboratory examination, according to PDEA agent Chona Egam.
Based on the certificate of inventory obtained by The Freeman Tuesday evening, the items seized from Maguire were the following:
One big plastic pack containing dirty white crystalline substance (believed to be shabu) marked with signature of the poseur-buyer; two P500 bills (with serial numbers EB313364 and EQ527196 with initials RF written on top of the would be P120,000 bundle of money); one USB mini speaker (Salza brand); one box of EMS parcel; P3,870 cash in different denominations; one Euro bill; and the suspect's passport. — Ric V.
