Tagbilaran PNP burdened w/ problem on impounded bikes

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - City Police chief George Vale yesterday bared his station is now facing the problem on how to deal with the congestion of motorcycles impounded for various traffic violations.

Vale told The Freeman these motorcycles were hauled and stocked at Camp Dagohoy due to limited space at the police station. Only a few owners have filed claims for repossession of the motorcycles, he said, resulting in the piling up of these vehicles at the station’s yard.

Carnapping incidents recorded the highest number last March with 21 motorcycles, followed by 17 more in April, 15 last February, six in May, five each in June and October, four each in January, July and August, and three in September.

The number dropped to its lowest with only two last November, police records showed. —Ric V. Obedencio (FREEMAN)
