Negros Occ gets 11 new prosecutors

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines  — Of the total 72 new prosecutors nationwide who were appointed by President Benigno “PNoy” Aquino III, 11 of them will be assigned to Negros Occidental, including Bacolod City.

Named as Prosecutor I is June Ann Bernal for Negros Occidental, while those for Prosecutor III were Ma. Consolacion Bascug for Negros Occidental; Analou Sazon for Silay City; and Ma. Theresa Ditching, Maritess Gumahin, Maria Mercedes  Odango-Saril, Hermes Ariño and Fernand Castro for Bacolod City.

Prosecutor IV appointees were Dennis Jarder (as senior deputy for Bacolod City), Emmanuel Lope Lupisan (deputy for Bacolod) and Antonieta Silab (for San Carlos City, Negros Occidental).

Justice Secretary Leila De Lima told reporters in Manila that there is a need to address the shortage of prosecutors nationwide.  (FREEMAN)
