RPA-ABB leader, kagawad nabbed for loose firearms
BACOLOD CITY, Philippines— Three people, among them a suspected leader of the Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Bongcayao Brigade and a barangay kagawad, were arrested Wednesday during raids in two barangays in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
Nabbed were Marlon De los Santos, allegedly an RPA-ABB commander of Barangay 2 in the city, Councilman Mario Ramas and his nephew Jose Tam Ramas, both of Barangay Nataban.
Confiscated from the suspects were M16 armalite rifle with seven long steel magazines and 45 rounds of live ammunitions; .30-caliber carbine with three short magazines and 39 rounds of live ammunitions; and .45-caliber pistol with two steel standard magazines and 40 rounds of live ammunitions—all of which were allegedly unlicensed.
The raid was conducted by virtue of a search warrant issued by San Carlos City’s Regional Trial Court-branch 59 Judge Catherine Go. The three suspects are now detained at the San Carlos Police station cell. (FREEMAN)
