BACOLOD CITY, Philippines - — After photos of the three detainees, who were transported through public utility jeepney Monday, went viral on social media site and had garnered negative reactions from the netizens, Senior Superindent Larry Decena, city police chief, had ordered the probe of the alleged security violations committed by personnel of Police Station 1.

Decena said that he will call the attention of the PS 1 officer-in-charge, Senior Inspector Lanel Mae Ree Lanado, and the two policemen who escorted the inmates from the Bacolod Hall of Justice to the police station, as he stressed that it is not allowed to transport the inmates on a jeepney since they should be transported using the patrol car.

Decena said that if the patrol car was not available, police escorts should have waited for the vehicle to return to the station.

He stressed that it is not enough reason to claim that there is not enough transportation facility, hence, disregard the safety and security of the public and the detainees.

Meanwhile, the owner of the photos, who is also one of the passengers, said that the pictures were uploaded to Facebook to call the attention of the authorities regarding the issue.  (FREEMAN)
