Judy Flores Partlow - The Freeman

DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines - — The Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office  is intensifying its anti-illegal drugs operations in anticipation of a rise in the demand for the prohibited substances during the Holy Week observance and the entire summer months.

Inspector Ryan Jay Orapa, head of the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group said Senior Superintendent Mariano Natuel Jr., OIC director of NOrPPO, issued a directive to step up police operations during the Holy Week.

Orapa further disclosed that in recent days, illegal drugs peddling in the affected barangays in Dumaguete City, where the bigger bulk of the drug trade is concentrated, has "slowed down" due to relentless police operations.  (FREEMAN)
