1 dies, 7 hurt in vehicles’ collision

BACOLOD CITY , Philippines   â€” A man was killed while seven others were injured after two vehicles collided at Murcia Road in Brgy. Mansilingan, this city, at 2:50 a.m. Sunday.

Police identified the fatality as Mark Anthony Dianonco, 31, of Kabakalan City, Negros Occidental. He was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead hours later.

Injured were Julie Bernalde, 51, his wife, Lora, 43,  their four children, aged 10  to 16, and their relative, Dara Britanico, 18, all from Murcia town in Negros Occidental.

Police records showed the Mitsubishi Lancer, driven by Dianonco, collided head-on with the Nissan Patrol, driven by Bernalde, who sustained severe injuries and is currently confined at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

Police were still probing the incident. (FREEMAN)
