Korean found dead in resort

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines - — The body of a Korean national was found decomposing inside his room at Mambukal Summer Resort at Murcia town in Negros Occidental, Thursday morning.

Senior Supt. Milko Lirazan, provincial police director, identified the victim as Se Il Jang, 54, whose body was discovered by the resort’s housekeeper.

Lirazan said the victim’s neck had a tie around it, which was tied to the headboard of the bed, ruling out the possibility of foul play. A medico-legal officer however has yet to confirm if it was suicide.

Lizaran said the Korean had been staying in the resort since February 5 and was last seen on Tuesday. A letter was found in the victim’s planner but the police could not understand the contents because these were written in Korean.

The police had already coordinated with the Bureau of  Immigration to locate the family of the victim. —  (FREEMAN)
