7.1-foot dolphin found dead

Danny B. Dangcalan - The Freeman

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines  â€” A 7.1-foot bottlenose dolphin, estimated to weigh more than 100 kilos, was found dead and floating in the coast of Pulupandan town in Negros Occidental Wednesday morning.

The already decomposing body of the dolphin, believed dead for three days already, was found by fishermen in Brgy. Zone 1 of Pulupandan. They buried it immediately.

Marine biologist Mark de la Paz, who saw the dolphin before it was buried, said it was most probably a bottlenose dolphin of the Tursiops species. (FREEMAN)
