Senator Villar to expand business in Iloilo after his term ends on June
ILOILO CITY, Philippines — Senator Manuel 'Manny' Villar will be expanding his business here in Iloilo province to provide more job opportunities for Ilonggos after his second term will end on June 30.
Villar said he wants to go back to his private life so that he could focus more on his businesses and his devotion to the Villar Foundation, which is now helping 111 livelihood projects all over the country.
Having an Ilonggo root, the senator also said he wanted Iloilo to be the top province in the country by bringing more investments here, particularly on housing projects.
Villar, in his visit to the city recently, said he is planning to build a house somewhere in the province to enable him to oversee existing projects of the foundation, especially because his wife Cynthia is now set to replace him at the Senate.
When asked if he has plan to run again for presidency in 2016, Villar replied that he could neither deny nor confirm such possibility. He however said that President Benigno Aquino III is a good leader and that more potential names are also coming out like Ilonggo Senator Franklin Drilon and Manuel Roxas II.
Villar has been a senator since 2001. He ran but lost his presidential bid against Aquino in 2010. — (FREEMAN)
