DILG-8 head declares "spurious" the 2 FB accounts in his name

Lalaine Jimenea - The Philippine Star

TACLOBAN CITY, Philippines — The regional director of the DILG-Region 8 has debunked anew two Facebook accounts as his own, declaring these "spurious" and could be damaging to him because these posted critical statements against some powerful politicians.

It was the second time that DILG-8 director Pedro Noval Jr. had to issue a statement debunking an FB account in his name. This time, he said in a statement to media: "I wish to put on record that I do not maintain a personal Facebook account, nor have I allowed anyone to do so in my behalf."

Noval also told the public to disregard "friend invitations" from accounts claiming to be his. He warned the masterminds behind that he already asked the Department of Justice and the NBI to track the people behind these fictitious FB accounts.

In some of the sample screenshots he sent to media, one status post showed the fake Noval saying that "the defeat of Garcia, Gullas and Osmeña in Cebu humiliated them and maybe the electorate was fed up with them."

Other comments on the account also called the losing politicians as trapos and that they should start writing their memoirs like Senator Juan Ponce Enrile, "whose son Jackie Enrile was made to pay the sins and abuses of his father … Enough of these senile trapos."

In another post, the fake account dwelt on why Rep. Bem Noel lost to Mayor Alfred Romualdez in the mayoralty race in Tacloban City, saying "he (Noel) was a scalawag and uncivilized for harassing civilians and mediamen."

And on May 12, the fake Noval further wrote that the FB account was "not fake and spurious", and that this can be verified if they call "him" at his office numbers, his cell phone number or even visit him at his "new house" at Breeza Homes in Brgy. Nangka of Consolacion town in Cebu. – (FREEMAN)
