Thousands in Labor Day rally hit PNoy for ignoring workers
ILOILO CITY, Philippines — At least 5000 workers from different sectoral groups in Iloilo marched along the main streets of this city to commemorate the 111th Labor Day as they expressed their dismay to the present administration.
Elmer Forro, spokesperson of Kilusang Mayo Uno-Panay, lambasted the administration of President Benigno Aquino III for not addressing the problems of workers in the country.
Forro said the Aquino government's implemented programs only added the burden of the workers. One of these is the private-public partnership program, which he said did not resolve labor woes but only worsen the problems of the common workers.
Those who are already rich became more richer in the time of PNoy who in turn did nothing to lift the conditions of the poor workers.
Meanwhile, the observance of Labor Day in this city was also attended byMayor Jed Patrick Mabilog who was endorsed by the different sectoral groups under Bayan Muna.
Mabilog has been endorsing and supporting the different party-lists under Bayan Muna. (FREEMAN)
