Brgy Councilman nabbed in buy-bust

ILOILO CITY, Philippines  --- A barangay councilman and three other men were arrested by operatives of the PDEA-6 in a buy-bust at a restaurant in La Paz district of this city over the weekend that also yielded a total of 23.95 grams of shabu with a street value of P203,000.

PDEA-6 regional director Ronnie Delicana identified the suspects as 40-year-old Councilman Pablo Supapo of Mangit in Dumangas town; Kim Obapial, 19, of Jaro district in this city; Edward Bryan Jaranilla, 29, of Bacolod City; and Kenneth Asanza, 37, of Dumangas, Iloilo.

Delicana said the transaction was consummated after two weeks of negotiation with Asanza, who allegedly agreed with the poseur buyer that the sale of shabu will be done at the restaurant. (FREEMAN)
