Briton woman sues Pinoy drinking pal of rape
ILOILO CITY, Philippines – A native of Quezon City was accused of sexually molesting a 23-year-old Briton woman early morning of Saturday at Station 2 of Boracay Island in Malay, Aklan.
Last Monday, a rape charge was filed against Carlos San Jose, 36, and later a pre-trial was done at the Branch 6 of the Aklan Regional Trial Court.
San Jose, who worked as dreadlocks artist together with his Syrian girlfriend in the island, allegedly molested the Briton tourist at around 4a.m. of Saturday.
Initially, the suspect invited the Briton woman, who was on vacation with some friends, for a dinner at a restaurant.
The victim told investigators of the Boracay Tourist Assistance Center (BTAC)–Women and Children’s Desk that they indulged in binge drinking first. But when she got drunk, San Jose allegedly forced himself to her.
BTAC chief, Sr. Insp. Joeffer Cabural, said the Brit woman told WCD investigators that she did not expect the suspect would rape her.â€
After the alleged rape incident, the victim reported the incident to the local police. San Jose was immediately arrested and is now detained at the Aklan Rehabilitation Center (ARC). (FREEMAN)
