BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Four mayors of Negros Occidental, formerly of the Lakas CMD, took their oaths as members of the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC).
The four mayors were Isidro Zayco of Kabankalan City, Augustin Ernesto Bascon of Himamaylan City, Melecio Yap. Jr. of Escalante City and Ma. Teresa Bilbao of Hinobaan town.
NPC president Frisco San Juan sworn in the four mayors at the NPC Club House in Quezon City in the presence of NPC chairman Faustino Dy Jr., Rep. Henry Cojuangco and former Rep. Mark Cojuangco, among other party members.
Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo Marañon, chairman of NPC in this province, said he was not informed of such oathtaking. “It was done at the national level,” he said. (FREEMAN)
