Limkaichong sends 3 scholars for heavy equipment course

CEBU, Philippines - Negros Oriental 1st district Rep. Jocelyn Sy-Limkaichong sent off three out-of-school youths from Negros Oriental as scholars for Monark Foundation Institute’s certificate course on heavy equipment servicing.

The course aims to equip students with skills fit for heavy equipment servicing mechanic through a dual training system that would ensure the acquisition of quality technical knowledge and skills in school and practical competencies in the industry.

The three—Reymuel Gantalao of Siaton,town and Edward Abella III and Von Kendall Tuliao of Dumaguete City—were the only passers out of 64 applicants who underwent rigorous screenings, exams and interviews.

The scholarship covers full tuition fee for the two-year course, an extra set of uniform, lodging, and a one-time allowance for other immediate expenses.

The institute is accredited by the Technical Education Skills Development Authority and is a sub-licensee of the Caterpillar Institute of Australia. - THE FREEMAN
