Rep. Espina eyes completion of Biliran circum road in 2013
NAVAL, BILIRAN, Philippines — Representative Rogelio Espina, of the lone district of this province, announced that the completion of the concreting of the Biliran circumferential road will be finished before his term ends in 2013, according to a PIA-8 report.
The first-termer congressman said some 20 kilometers of the more than 152-km Biliran circumferential road have been completed. “It’s only approximately four kilometers of unpaved part of the circumferential road are up for completion, hopefully in 2013,” he said
Data from the DPWH-Biliran revealed that the remaining 4.6 kilometers of unpaved road is located at the Cabucgayan-Caibiran section.
Espina said he already asked DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson on the funding for the completion of the remaining unpaved road. “Hopefully the fund will be included in the 2013 General Appropriations Act or next year’s national budget,” he added.
The congressman further announced the completion this year of the concreting of the three bridges in the province: Talibong bridge in Cabucgayan, Mainit bridge in Caibiran and Tucdao bridge in Kawayan. (FREEMAN)
