Siquijor prov'l police launches e-Blotter System

CEBU, Philippines - The PNP e-Blotter System is now implemented by the Siquijor Police Provincial Office (SPPO) after its formal launching in rites held at Caipilan town last week.

Senior Supt. Ernesto Agas, SPPO director, said the e-Blotter will result in faster and more efficient crime incident reporting system.

“It will facilitate crime documentation and modernize data storage. It will also present quick, fast and reliable transmission of crime information from police station to the national headquarters in Camp Crame,” Agas said.

Agas told The Freeman that e-Blotter is one of the top priorities of PNP Chief, Director General Nicanor Bartolome, in mapping out ways against criminal activities throughout the country.

He said some components in the system are the e-Warrants and e-Rouges, using the Internet to create a network and database of all police reports along with information and photos of wanted criminals.

The e-Blotter will become a tool of the investigator and the crime registrar in writing complete and detailed report in the police blotter, said Agas.

The launching event was attended by Provincial Board Members Freddie Calibo and Arturo Pacatang who relayed the message of Governor Orlando Fua.

Others present were town Mayors Edwin Quimno of San Juan, Richard Quezon of Siquijor and Rebecca Padayhag of Maria, along with six municipal police chiefs and SPPO officials.

Pacatang said the governor has plans also to set up a Crime Lab for the SPPO, to address delays in lab tests results, which are currently dependent on the one in Dumaguete City.

The mayors also supported their respective municipal police station by providing computer sets for the project. - THE FREEMAN
