Electric firm loses P3.6M to six robbers
BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — About P3.6 million was taken by robbers from the Central Negros Electric Cooperative (CENECO) yesterday morning.
Six hold-uppers posed as customers when they entered the establishment at 9:15 a.m., and one of them went inside the Cash Division Office and demanded the money from the cashier.
In a report from Bombo Radyo, the amount of P3.6 million was to have been deposited to the bank yesterday.
The robbers were able to disarm the three security guards of their .38 caliber revolver and two 9mm service firearms, it said.
In an interview, one of the guards said he had attempted to grab the .45 caliber pistol from one of the hold-uppers but he got kicked and he fell down.
One of the suspects also opened fire inside the Cash Division Office, which broke its crystal window.
The robbers, all wearing baseball cap, immediately fled on two motorcycles, Bombo Radyo added. (FREEMAN)
