- Jennifer P. Rendon -

ILOILO CITY  ,Philippines — The Police Regional Office-6 and four colleges in the city and province on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding accommodating Criminology students of these schools for on-the-job training programs in various police units.

Signing the MOU were PRO-6 director Chief Supt. Cipriano Querol, Jr., and the presidents of Iloilo Doctors’ College, St. Therese-MTC Colleges, University of Iloilo-Phinma and West Visayas State University-Lambunao Campus.

Querol said the police could provide good training grounds to Criminology students through better access to police works and information on the basic duties of a police officer to help them prepare for a career in law enforcement administration.

The MOU signing was done in time coinciding with the PRO-6’s celebration of the 21st PNP Foundation Anniversary, with Dept. of Tourism-Region 6 OIC Helen Catalbas as guest of honor and speaker.

During the event, seven police personnel were conferred with awards:

Four of them, from the Himamaylan City and Kabankalan City police stations, were awarded with Medalya ng Kasanayan (PNP Efficiency Medal): Supt. Antonietto Cañete, Sr. Insp. Anthony Grande and PO3s John Derrick Capunong and Rune Quirico Bandola.

Bestowed with Medalya ng Papuri (PNP Commendation Medal) were PO3 Francisco Lindero Jr., and PO2s Nida Gregas of Aklan and Ria May de la Cruz of Antique Provincial Police Office.
