DUMAGUETE CITY ,Philippines – The city police are still conducting manhunt operations against three unidentified robbers who ran off with an estimated cash of more than P100,000 from Botica Real along the north national highway in Daro at around 9 a.m. Monday.
Police report said the men, armed with short firearms of still undetermined caliber, entered the pharmacy, declared a holdup and fled on a motorcycle after taking the cash from the establishment.
City Police head, Supt. Crisaleo Tolentino, said the robbers, whose faces were in full view on the pharmacy’s close circuit TV, reportedly introduced themselves as members of the Philippine Drug Inforcement Agency (PDEA) and told the pharmacist on duty at that time that they were conducting routine inspection of pharmacies.
Tolentino said he instructed his men to produce and print photo grabs of the CCTV recording. He also believed that the daytime heist was perpetrated by “professionals” based on the manner and speed of which the crime was carried out.
He said the robbery was planned well and the suspects apparently knew about PDEA’s work of conducting inspection of pharmacies.
