PALO, LEYTE, Philippines – The Police Regional Office-8 has recently conducted the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Regional Health Service-8 Level 1 Hospital at the PRO-8 grounds at Camp Ruperto Kangleon.
Senior Supt. Elizar Egloso, chief of the PRO-8 Community Relations Division, said the project is in line with the facilities development of the PNP Integrated Transformation Program to develop and upgrade the facilities of the police force.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the P5.2 million hospital was graced by DOH-8 director Edgardo Gonzaga, who was the guest of honor and speaker.
Gonzaga said the project is also in line with the DOH’s thrust of upgrading health stations and hospitals to ensure that all Filipinos have equitable access to effective health care services.
The Level 1 Hospital further aims to be more responsive to the health needs of its catchment population and to decongest the tertiary hospitals in nearby places, he said. – (FREEMAN)
