BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — The interment of Bacolod businessman Jose Ma. “Boy” Zayco is set tomorrow (Monday) after a 2 p.m. Mass at the Kabankalan City cemetery.
Zayco, 64, and vice president of Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI), passed away Tuesday afternoon after a massive heart attack at his office.
Zayco is survived by his daughter, Ratchelle, and granddaughter, Angelique.
His remains, at the St. Peters Memorial Chapels in Brgy. Alijis, will be brought to Kabankalan City at 10 a.m. today (Sunday.)
Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr., who had a meeting with Zayco shortly before he died, said he was surprised to hear the death of the businessman. “Boy Zayco is a big loss to the province, to MBCCI, to his friends and co-worker,” he said.
MBCCI president Frank Carbon described Zayco as a “very workaholic and dedicated member” of MBCCI and a very thoughtful friend.
Zayco was also a good friend among media personalities in Bacolod, as most of the time he was the PR person for business conferences hosted by MBCCI and other business organizations. (FREEMAN)
