ILOILO CITY — A pillbox, locally known as dalugdog, was lobbed and exploded at the house of a businessman at Barangay San Isidro of Jaro district in this city over the weekend.
Police reports said several things were damaged inside the house of Wilhelm Tormon, alias Boy Puklat, an owner of a lending company. No one was hurt among the house occupants.
Initial investigation showed that business rivalry could be the motive of the incident, but police probers could not determine yet why someone would want Tormon killed.
Reports indicated that the incident could be triggered by some “questionable dealings” that Tormon went into.
“We have been receiving reports of his involvement on some dubious business transactions,” Sr. Insp. Joseph Euje Almaquer, Jaro Police chief, said without elaborating.
Almaquer only said that the bombing could be just a way “to send strong signal to Tormon that his enemies are capable of throwing harm on him.” Jennifer P. Rendon
