BACOLOD CITY, Philippine s — The Negros Occidental Comprehensive Health Care Program (NOCHP) has enrolled 74,655 indigent families, as of December 5, the highest enrolment of which was from the 3rd congressional district, under Rep. Alfredo “Albee” Benitez.
NOCHP Core Group head Marlin Sanogal said that, with an average of five members per family, this translates to a total of 373,275 beneficiaries, according to.
A total of 23,615 families, from the cities of Victorias, Silay and Talisay and the towns of E.B. Magalona and Murcia, all in the 3rd district, were enrolled to the NOCHP, Sanogal said.
The 6th District, covering the cities of Kabankalan and Sipalay and the towns of Candoni, Cauayan, Hinobaan, and Ilog, has 21,271 enrollees.
The 2nd District, composed of the cities of Cadiz and Sagay and Manapla town, has 20,847 enrollees.
The 4th District has 5,323 members, 5th District has 3,150, and 1st District has 449.
The NOCHP allows Negros Occidental residents to receive the Negros First Family Health Cards that will entitle members and their dependents to free outpatient care.
This includes consultations with full course and treatment medicines, and subsidized in-patient care in provincial government-run hospitals and at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, the hospital run by the DOH. (FREEMAN)
