Rescue team sets training
DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines — More than twenty members of the City Rescue 348 team will undergo a 10-day rigid training on water survival and Basic Life Saving Techniques from November 14 through November 23.
Randy Saldua, in-charge of the City Risk Reduction Management Council, said the training will be conducted by the Negros Oriental Search and Rescue team headed by Alejandro Somoza Jr. and the members of the Philippine National Red Cross.
Saldua said the rescue team consists mostly of city hall employees who volunteered to learn search and rescue techniques based on international standards.
City Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria approved the training and vowed to continue giving support to the search and rescue program.
The training will be on basic life support, standard first aid, water rescue survival and ropemanship. (FREEMAN)
