Brgy chair kills brother over videoke noise
DUENAS, ILOILO, Philippines – A noisy videoke session irked Brgy Chairman Nestor Arañador of Bugtongan in this town of Iloilo, and drove him to gun down his younger brother Eulogio, the owner of the videoke bar near the chairman’s house.
Police reports said that, while customers were in the middle of drinking and singing sessions, an angry Nestor barged in and shouted at his brother, 51-year-old Eulogio.
The two then went on a heated argument, but at the height of their verbal tussle, Nestor suddenly drew his firearm and shot Eulogio.
The victim was hit on the neck through and through. He was rushed to the Iloilo Provincial Hospital in Pototan town but was pronounced dead on arrival. The suspect fled after the incident.
Chief Insp. Frederick Dequito, Dueñas Police chief, said it was possible that Nestor had already sought refuge in an area outside of the town, or possibly out of Iloilo province.
A manhunt operation is presently conducted to arrest the suspect, while Eulogio’s family seemed vent in pursuing criminal charges against Nestor. (FREEMAN)
