TAGBILARAN CITY, Philippines – The third official to assume as the city’s chief of police for this year alone has been formally installed in a turn-over ceremony at the city police station the other day.
The new police chief is Supt. Gil del Prado left his post as deputy director for operations of the Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO) to replace Supt. Arcadio Jamora Jr. as head of the City Police.
Senior Supt. Julius Cesar Gornez, deputy director for administration of the BPPO, represented Sr. Supt. Constantino Barot Jr. in administering the turn-over of command.
Gornez was the then City Police chief this year and, when promoted to the second top BPPO post, was replaced by Jamora last May 3.
When Jamora was directed to report for schooling in Manila to qualify for his promotion, Insp. Adriano Bacus was named OIC of the City Police before the final assumption of office of del Prado.
Del Prado was among the three officials endorsed by Jamora for selection by City Mayor Dan Lim to head the City Police.
Lim picked out Del Prado from four other nominees – Supts. Antonieto Cuyos, BPPO’s police community officer, Nicomedes Olayvar, head of the Provincial Public Safety Company, Clarito Baja, BPPO operations officer, and Jeffrey Caballes, head of BPPO admin division. (FREEMAN)
