BACOLOC CITY ,Philippines — The 1.2-hectare lot of the old Provincial Jail at Gatuslao St., as well as of the National Food Authority (NFA) Building adjacent to it, are up for bidding, Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. said.
These properties are offered for long-term lease, he said, adding that the old Provincial Jail has just been vacated, when its inmates were transferred to the new Negros Occidental District Jail in Barangay Tabunan, Bago City.
Marañon said the NFA management has already signified its willingness to transfer to a property of the provincial government adjacent to the NODJ.
The provincial government has offered the property as a site for NFA building with the additional offer of spending for the construction of the building, Marañon said.
Meanwhile, the lots at the Paglaum Sports Complex will be scheduled for bidding first, followed by the bidding for the lots at the old Provincial Jail and NFA, the governor said.
