MOA signed for eco-friendly school bldgs

TAGBILARAN CITY, Philippines - Representative Erico Aumentado (2nd district, Bohol) entered into a memorandum of agreement with the Department of Education and the National Development Support Command (NADESCOM) for the construction of ten environment-friendly two-classroom school buildings in five towns of Bohol.

Under the MOA, DepEd and Aumentado will contribute P5.5 million each to meet the P11-million requirement of the initial school buildings with NADESCOM as the implementing agency.

Aumentado signed the MOA with DepEd Undersecretary. Francisco Varela and Maj. Gen. Carlos Holganza of NADESCOM.

The school buildings will have concrete standard 63-square meter classroom, toilet, electricity, blackboards, steel trusses, steel window grill, heat insulator, gutter and downspouts, termite treatment, entire edifice painting and an 8,000-liter rain collector or innovative rain water harvesting system (IRHS) to insure water for its classroom toilet and school garden needs.

These will be constructed at Nocnocan Elementary School in Nocnocan island of Talibon town; Ubay National Science High School and Tubog Integrated School in Ubay; Basiao, Gaus and Bonbonon High Schools in President Carlos P. Garcia; San Jose, Hagbuyo and Caluasan Elementary Schools in San Miguel; and Cuaming High School in Cuaming island of Inabanga.
