PANGLAO, BOHOL, Philippines —A family of four clung to their lives as their 16-hp motorized banca capsized at dusk the other day due to turbulent seawaters as a result of monsoon between Balicasag islet and this town, police report said.
Loue Sabayani, 30, and his wife and two children-all Badjao descendants and residents of barangay Tawala of this tourist town-were eventually rescued by a passing pump boat skippered by a certain Bert Babatuan.
Town policeman, PO1 Jonathan Estoque confirmed the report, saying the capsized banca was also recovered and towed ashore.
The family came Tuesday night from a fiesta in Balicasag, known by scuba buffs for its world-class dive spots, the report said. — THE FREEMAN
