ORMOC CITY, Philippines – The New Ormoc City National High School (NOCNHS) received school supplies from an FM radio station.
Ariel R. Lam, Marketing Manager of Hot FM station said they chose NOCHNS because it has the largest enrollment among the schools in the entire Ormoc school division. “With the usual problems besieging the school administration, Hot FM decided to focus more on the individual problems of students and parents such as the lack of (school)supplies to those who have less in life”, he said.
Initially, 150 selected students received school supplies but Lam said more students will get similar assistance as they are still in the observation phase considering it is their first time to have such project.
School principal Imelda Amodia thanked the FM radio company for the donation.
Lam together with Amodia and School Student Council President Hexelsa Joy Nunez distributed the supplies to 30 students from the night high school class and another 120 from the regular day time classes.
Lam told the recipients that “education must start with the family, so value your parents.”
Each of the 150 students got packs that contained basic educational necessities. (FREEMAN)
