BACOLOD CITY, Philippines - Delegates from Negros Occidental joined the rest of the Philippine delegation to the 22nd CommunicAsia International ICT Conference and Exhibitions at the Marina Bay International Convention Center in Singapore last June 20 to 24.
CommunicAsia was Asia's largest knowledge-based ICT (Information and Communications Technology) platform that was relevant and comprehensive for business growth, as buyers and sellers met to discuss the latest in the ICT industry and evaluated business opportunities,
Lawyer Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, chairman of the National ICT Confederation of the Philippines (NICP) and the Bacolod-Negros Occidental Federation for ICT (BNeFIT), said the conference and exhibition was also for bench-marking and promoting local capacities.
She also represented the Negros Occidental provincial government as consultant of Governor Alfredo Maranon Jr. on ICT, with Roy Balicas, the governor's consultant on finance and administrative concerns.
The Philippine delegation to the CommunicAsia 2011 was led by the Commission ICT, with officials from Santa Rosa City (Laguna) headed by Mayor Arlene Arcillas, Metro Clark ICT Council led by its president, Francisco Villanueva, and Laguna Industry Network for Knowledge, Innovation and Technology Foundation (LINK-IT) with its president, Antonio Del Carmen.
