Revamp of city police officials

- Jennifer P. Rendon -

ILOILO CITY ,Philippines  — The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) will be implementing changes or reshuffling of personnel next week.

Senior Supt. Marietto Valerio, ICPO director, confirmed that Chief Insp. Rene Lauron will still vacate La Paz Police Station and be replaced by Sr. Insp. Alexander Rosales, a former chief of the same station.

Earlier reports stated that Lauron would be replaced by Chief Insp. Jay Malong, deputy chief of the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group, a unit under ICPO deputy chief for operations, Supt. Noel Lamsis.

Malong will however be assigned to the Molo Police Station, his former post, to replace Sr. Insp. Reuben Siason who will be reassigned as chief of Arevalo Police Station.

Senior Insp. Eliezer Baclagon, outgoing Arevalo PNP chief, will head the ICPO Central Records and Investigation Section (CRIS).

Valerio said that the order or reshuffling officials will take effect on June 27, Monday. "We have modified the earlier plan to give chance to others to lead a different unit," he said.

In the case of Baclagon, Valerio justified that he was relieved for health reasons. "Medyo mataas ang blood sugar niya kaya hindi niya kayang magpuyat," he said.

Baclagon will also be retiring in less than two years. His new assignment will give him time to process his retirement papers.
