3 die, 7 hurt in accident

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Three persons, including a teacher, were killed and seven others were injured in a vehicular accident in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental at about 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

A tricycle, headed for Brgy. San Jose of Sipalay, collided with a van carrying a dead person from Bacolod City, radio reports said.

The fatalities were identified as Janet Fiel, 25, and her 4-year-old daughter Samantha, and Jovy Bogtae Espelita, 33, a teacher of San Jose.

The seven injured were identified as Susan Loquinario, Precil Parajito, Cedric Palma, Carlos Glabo, Lorenzo Baladhay and cousins Kim Barcelona and Kim Jayopeline. (FREEMAN)
