Bb. Pilipinas bet named Ambassadress of Goodwill
ILOILO CITY, Philippines – An Ilongga candidate to Bb.Pilipinas 2011, Angelia Gabrena Ong, was recently named as the Iloilo City’s new Ambassadress of Goodwill.
Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog disclosed that he has already offered Ong to be part of the tourism team and help promote the city.
“Ong, who won the ‘Face of Bb. Pilipinas’ award by virtue of text votes, will become the city’s Ambassadress of Goodwill,” Mabilog said.
“She can help out our City Tourism Office in their promotional programs and projects to boost our attractions here,” he explained.
The 20-year-old Mass Communications student from St. Paul University-Iloilo will join the other local beauty queens, like the reigning Miss Dinagyang, in endorsing the sights and sounds of metropolitan Iloilo.
Ong on the other hand, was very thankful for the support given by the city government and her fellow Ilonggos.
She described her Bb. Pilipinas experience as “great” and “overwhelming” as it was the first pageant she ever joined.
“The people spoke for me. Even though I didn’t win the hearts of judges, I’ve won the hearts of the people,” she said of her winning the Face of Bb. Pilipinas. –(FREEMAN)
