NAVAL, BILIRAN, Philippines — The Department of Education division in Biliran has announced that it has started accepting, processing and interviewing applicants for teaching jobs in this province for school year 2011-2012.
The division's education program supervisor Jose Mondido, who is also chairman of the Personnel Selection and Promotions Board, said the interview of applicants who have been waiting in line for teaching jobs in the division will end on April 28.
The teacher-applicants are also required to conduct demonstration teaching and skills demonstration to really assess their capability and skills in imparting learning to the pupils and students, said Mondido.
He said that, to make the selection more comprehensive and effective, the acceptance and processing of applications and the conduct of demonstration teaching by the applicants for the secondary level have been clustered province-wide into three.
For Cluster 1 (consisting of Caibiran, Culaba and Cabucgayan towns), the applicants have to go to the Cabucgayan National School of Arts and Trades; for Cluster 2 (Biliran, Naval North and South Districts), applicants will go to the Naval National High School; and for Cluster 3 (Almeria, Kawayan and Maripipi) applicants will go to Almeria.
Those applying for teaching jobs in the elementary level in each district of the division have to see the district supervisor for the submission of their application, interview and demonstration teaching.
Mondido said that, in the recruitment of teachers, "knowledge in computer operation is also a plus factor." — THE FREEMAN
