DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines - The families of two rebels, killed in an encounter with government troops in Brgy. Nagbinlod of Sta. Catalina town, Negros Oriental last month, have been provided with financial assistance by the provincial government the other day.
Governor Roel Degamo handed over P5,000 cash each to Magdalena Benlot, mother of slain NPA member Jocelyn Benlot and Cristina Sueto, wife of slain NPA member Lando Sueto.
The governor told The FREEMAN that the money aid was initiated by 302nd Infantry Brigade commander, Col. Manuel Ochotorena, and 79th IB commander, Col. Pio Diñoso, who came to his office to request for help for the families of the slain rebels. (FREEMAN)
