110th Province Foundation Year: Semana Sang Iloilo activities laid out

ILOILO CITY , Philippines  — The Iloilo provincial government has announced it has already lined up week-long activities for the 110th Foundation Anniversary of the province dubbed as Semana Sang Iloilo from April 4 to 11.

The activities, bearing the theme "Kultura nga pinanubli, aton ikabuhi," will kick off with opening ceremonies tomorrow, April 4, at the Capitol lobby, followed by the ribbon-cutting rites of Agri-Fair and Exhibits at the Capitol grounds.

These will be followed with the opening of the Food Festival and a Cultural Presentation into the evening.

On Tuesday, April 5, there will be Disaster Preparedness Seminar, a Memorial Lecture, an Inter-municipal Folk Dance Competition, and continuation of the Food Festival.

On Wednesday, April 6, activities set are Jobs Fair, Cooperative Congress, and Food Festival, while on Thursday, April 7, are Inter-Floor Games at the Iloilo Sports Complex, Hospital Awards and Recognition Program, and Agri-Achievers Awarding ceremonies.

On Friday, April 8, the Memorial Lectures will be held followed by the Parade of Festivals from the Freedom Grandstand to the Capitol, then on Saturday, April 10, will be the Semana Marathon from the Capitol grounds to the Iloilo Sports Complex.

The weeklong celebration will be culminated on Sunday, April 11, with the Employees Family Day at the gym of the Iloilo Sports Complex, and capped by a Fellowship Night at the Capitol lobby in the evening.
